Gum covers - Jean-Manuel Simoes

Upon observation of the French magazines, women mags seem to have reached the highlight of misogyny: touts titles, advertisements blooming, mixing genres between journalism and advertorial, especially provocative covers.
To abound in this direction, but pushing the provocative in the extreme, I decided to make a series showing the real text of stacked blankets to real pictures of pin-up.
The prints were online slots made of bichromate cyanotipie and gums, a former three-color process made contact with three negative on the principle of separation of colors (cyan-magenta-yellow).
Each cover upon a single object is mounted in American cases, comes with its custom packaging.
The series of twenty will be presented at the exhibition of Contemporary Photography, Place Saint Sulpice in Paris

on 1 and 2 June.
